Introduction
We believe Everspruce is the best home inventory app for iPhone and iPad (and will soon be the best on Android and the web too 🙂 There are a number of reasons we believe this, but one of the key reasons is our QR Code Labels feature that we’ll walk through in this blog post.
What are QR Codes?
For those who may be unfamiliar, QR codes are a type of barcode that can be scanned using a device’s camera, allowing users to access information or a specific webpage. In this case, the QR codes will be used to access specific entries within the Everspruce Home Inventory app. This means that users will be able to print out QR code labels for each entry in their inventory and use their device’s camera to scan the QR code and instantly access the entry within the Everspruce app.
Printing out QR Code labels
To use this feature, users will need to open the Everspruce app and navigate to Settings (the Gear button at the top right corner of the screen). Once there, users will need to scroll down until they see the Labels section. Under Labels, the user would then tap on Print QR Code Labels.
The user will then be taken to a screen where you will have five simple steps to follow:
- Select the entry types of the entries you want to print: You can choose to print labels for areas, boxes, items, or any combination of the three.
- Select specific entries you want to print: You will select which specific areas, boxes, or items you want to print labels for.
- Select the label paper size: You will select between U.S. Letter (8 ½ x 11 inches or A4 (210 x 297 mm).
- Select label size: Everspruce Home Inventory App QR code labels are compatible with a variety of Avery labels.
- Select the # of label copies you want to make per individual label. For example, if you want 4 of the same label to put on 4 sides of a box, then you would select 4.
Supported QR Code Labels
You don’t need to use Avery labels as you can easily print out the labels on plain paper, cut out each label, and affix it to a box using tape, but Avery sticky labels can save you time by providing an easy way to peel off and stick your label where it is needed.

Accessing your entries using QR Code Labels
Once your labels have been printed, there are two ways to access and use them.
From your device’s camera
The first way is to scan the QR code directly from your device’s camera, which will take you directly to the specific entry in the Everspruce Home Inventory App.
Directly from within the Everspruce app
The second way is to go into the Everspruce app, click on the QR code button in the top right corner, and place the camera over the QR code. This will also take you directly to the specific entry in the Everspruce Home Inventory App.
QR Code Label Security
It’s important to note that only users with access to the account will be able to use these QR codes – you don’t need to worry about the contents of your home inventory falling into the wrong hands.
