- Scroll down to the Settings section and tap on Additional Fields.
- From there you can turn on and off individual fields – including item quantity and item value.
Note: International users can also go into Settings and adjust your currency symbol as well.
Using the item value and quantity fields
If you’ve reached this section, we’re assuming you turned on both value and quantity fields on. If you haven’t, please go back to the section above and turn them both on. Using the item value and quantity fields is easy in Everspruce. The app allows you to update item value and quantity fields when you’re creating an item and also when you’re editing an item.
Adding value and quantity information to a new home inventory item
- If you haven’t already done so, add your first area in Everspruce.
- Figure out what item you want to add and have it in front of you.
- Open the app.
- Tap on the + button in the bottom center of the app.
- Tap on “Add new Item”.
- Now you need to select the parent entry you want this item entry to be under. Items can be nested under an Area or Box. For example, if the item you want to add is located in the kitchen, then select the “Kitchen” area as the parent entry.
- Now you are taken to the camera scene where you add a photo of the item. You can add photos two ways: with the camera OR with the photo library:
- To take photos with the camera, simply take a picture of your box by tapping on the purple circle.
- To add photos via the photo library, simply tap on the picture button in the upper right corner. From there you can select a photo and then tap “Done”.
- Next, add a name for your item and an optional description if you want.
- Now scroll down and tap on the quantity field and choose a number from 0 – 100.
- So for example, if the item you’re adding is a paint brush and you have three of them, then you would set the quantity to 3.
- Now tap on the value field and input the value of one item (Everspruce will automatically multiply the value by the quantity to determine the total value of the item).
- Continuing with the brush example, let’s say each brush is worth $2, then you would set the value to $2. We’ll talk more about this example further below.
- Tap on Save to create the entry.
- That’s it – you’ve just created an Item entry!
Adding value and quantity information to an existing home inventory item

- So for example, if the item you’re adding is a paint brush and you have three of them, then you would set the quantity to 3.
- Now tap on the value field and input the value of one item (Everspruce will automatically multiply the value by the quantity to determine the total value of the item).
- Continuing with the brush example, let’s say each brush is worth $2, then you would set the value to $2. We’ll talk more about this example further below.
- Tap on Save to update the entry.
Viewing your total home contents value
Now that you’ve updated all of your items – you can quickly view the total home contents value by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Home page.
- Tap on Settings (the gear icon in the upper right)
- Scroll down until you see “Total Item Value”. Underneath “Total Item Value” you will see a sum of all your item’s values multiplied by their quantity.
- So in our brush example, we had 3 brushes that we’re each valued at $2. If that was the only item you added, then you would see $6 for the “Total Item Value”.
